Welder / Fabricator

Candidates must be highly skilled fabricators, and it is essential that you are able to produce work to a very high standard.

You must be able to TIG weld to a competent standard. Training is provided to help candidates achieve the required standards we set but initial skill should be there.

You will need to have proven experience and ideally be time served or have acquired relevant training. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced fabricator wishing to utilise their broad experience in an established organisation.

Accuracy is key, and candidates must to be able to read and follow technical drawings. Candidates must also be experienced in the use of inspection and measurement apparatus including callipers and height gauges etc.

Role Overview

• Welding titanium and Inconel down to 0.7mm thickness.
• Fabricating and manipulating tube to produce high-standard fit-up, including swaging and grinding.
• Producing top-of-the-range motorcycle exhaust systems that adhere to strict tolerances.

Ideal Candidate

• Good communication skills and able to work well in a team-driven environment.
• Ability to self-direct, organise a personal job list and prioritise based on importance and time available.
• Accuracy is key, and candidates must be able to read and follow technical drawings.

Packing & Shipping Operative

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive person to take responsibility for the final stage of our production process. The candidate must have their own transport.

You will be responsible for preparing completed Austin Racing exhaust systems for dispatch to customers around the world, making sure orders are correct, protected and presented to the standard expected from our products.

This is also an important quality-control position. You will be the final set of eyes on each product before it leaves Austin Racing, checking everything from components and fittings to weld quality, laser etching and surface finish.

Role Overview

• Manage completed orders and organise the daily packing and dispatch workload efficiently.
• Carry out final quality-control checks on exhaust systems before they leave the workshop.
• Check fittings, components, laser etching, welds and surface finishes before packing.
• Pack premium exhaust systems securely and accurately for worldwide shipping.
• Keep the dispatch area clean, organised and fully stocked with boxes, protective materials and packing supplies.
• Potential to operate our laser-etching equipment as part of final product preparation.

Ideal Candidate

• Excellent attention to detail and pride in maintaining a high standard of presentation.
• Highly organised and able to prioritise daily dispatch deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable using spreadsheets, computers and Apple Mac software.
• A clear communicator with a proactive attitude who works well as part of a team.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and carrying out normal manual packing duties.
• Previous dispatch, goods-in or warehouse experience within a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
• Must have own transport.
